Define the comparison
Compare the complete restoration route with replacement, using the same finished dimensions, service requirements and inspection criteria. The lowest deposit price may not be the lowest completed-job cost.
Include preparation and finishing
Inspection, coating removal, substrate preparation, masking, plating, final grinding and testing can affect time and price. Their necessity depends on the condition and specification of the actual component.
Measure the benefit rather than assume it
Use actual repair cost, replacement cost, downtime, expected service interval and failure risk. Lifetime extension and savings are estimates until supported by relevant job data.
Ask for a comparable quotation
Share the base material, component drawing, working area, dimensions, coating requirement and inspection criteria. Suitability and the finishing route must be agreed for the actual component. Provide the required delivery date and say whether the job is new production or restoration. Compare like-for-like scope and record assumptions.
