Identify the damage before choosing a repair
A worn or damaged working surface needs component assessment. Record the base material, part dimensions, operating conditions, existing coating and the location of scratches, pits, peeling or wear. Photographs help an initial enquiry, but measurements and inspection may be needed to decide whether restoration is suitable.
Cosmetic patching is not functional coating restoration
Filling a surface or applying a cosmetic finish does not establish that the part meets its required coating adhesion, dimensions, wear performance or inspection criteria. Appearance and functional performance must be assessed separately.
Agree the restoration requirements
Share the drawing, required finished dimensions, surface finish, working area and inspection requirements with the process supplier. Ask whether coating removal, surface preparation, replating and final grinding are suitable for the specific part. Damage to the substrate or geometry may make replacement more appropriate; plating is not a universal repair.
Send a useful enquiry
Include clear close-up and whole-part photographs, the material if known, quantity, application and required delivery date. DVS handles component enquiries through its Bhosari and Chakan plants. The team can review the requirement before a repair route or schedule is agreed.
