What details help a quotation?
Share the base material, component drawing, working area, dimensions, coating requirement and inspection criteria. Suitability and the finishing route must be agreed for the actual component. Include the quantity, delivery date and whether the part is new or worn.
What should be checked before restoration?
Review substrate damage, remaining dimensions, working conditions and the required finish. Coating is not a universal repair for damaged geometry or material.
Does the coating choice depend on its purpose?
Yes. Functional wear surfaces, decorative appearance and electrical contacts have different requirements. Do not select a process only because the finished part looks bright.
Which chromium chemistry is used?
Conventional hard chrome plating uses hexavalent chromium bath chemistry. Specialised functional trivalent processes are also commercially available. Availability does not establish widespread adoption, equal performance for every application, or the bath chemistry used at DVS. Ask the supplier about the specified process; this is general Q&A guidance, not a documented expert interview.
